"Life is but a quick succession of busy nothings"

This quote from Mansfield Park always serves to be an "emotional check" for me. I throughly understand how at those times in life when you are so busy and have so many different things going on in your life that it seems as though everything is coming at you and you can't keep up, its easy to get caught up in it all and agree with this statement. You're so busy you feel like everything you've been so busy doing doesn't have any real purpose or you feel as though you're stretched so thin that you don't feel like yourself anymore. Trust me, I've been there and done that! I spent a lot of time living and believeing this statement until I just couldn't handle it anymore. I wanted more out of life! I wanted to live a life of joy and have a sense of purpose. Something that I could believe in even on those days that seem to be "a quick succession of busy nothings".

So, what did I do about it? I choose to live life through sunshine eyes! Everyday of life is a precious gift from God. There is more to life than just living it on a day to day basis. We can have joy in everyday and in everything because of what God has done for us! He has a divine purpose for our lives and our job is to seek it out and follow it. Having "sunshine eyes" is more easy on some days than others but having joy doesnt mean that every day is happy and filled with exciting adventures. There are some days when we are sad and lonely and feel overwhelmed by the circumstances in our lives. True joy is being able to take comfort in the fact that God is in control and He will take care of us. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says," But he said to me,"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

For me, life is about making every day count! I want to make a difference in my lifetime. Something more than just living my life for myself. I want to help others and make an eternal difference. And I know that because I'm not perfect I fall short of this goal in my life more often than I care to admit. All I can do is be the best that I can be through Christ! Because of my weaknesses and shortcomings I have to rely on God. I am so thankful that He is in control of it all! Remember that not every day is a "walk in the park" but try not to get caught up in that "busy nothings" feeling. Everyday is a new chance to live life to the fullest! So strive to live life through "sunshine eyes" and make every day count :)
